Here’s a cute and yummy treat for your family to enjoy. Dress up our adorable chick cake pops for your July 4th cookout.

Ingredients

Instructions

Make the cake mix according to the directions on the package, using a 9 by 13 pan. When the cake is completely cooled, crumble the cake into small pieces and mix in 2 to 3 tablespoons of icing and mix until it is the consistency of modeling clay. Then shape approximately 2 tablespoons of the mixture into a ball and insert a cake pop stick into the ball, then place the pop on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet. Continue making the cake pop balls until the cookie sheet is full or all of the mixture is used. Then refrigerate the pops for several hours or overnight.

When the pops are completely chilled, melt the chocolate candy according to package directions and carefully cover the pops with the melted candy. Insert the sticks into a piece of styrofoam and allow the coating on the cake pops to dry. Once dry, your ready to decorate.

Using your choice of cake decorating supplies (we used these cute jumbo heart sprinkles for the roosters and these flower sprinkles for the chicks) decorate your cake pops to look like roosters and chicks. Watch our video tutorial here.
