Chicken Chat- Deviled Eggs Recipes
Still have a ton of eggs coming in and nothing to do with them? Earlier this spring, our very own Jess N. and Jen K. decided to experiment with deviled eggs. They came up with a few deviled egg recipes that would be a hit at the next graduation party or family outing that you attend!
Tip: For all deviled egg recipes, start by boiling the eggs to your desired doneness. You could even use your pressure cooker as Jess suggests! Let them cool while you prepare the other ingredients. Then peel the egg, slice in half, and remove the yolk. You can place the yolk in a medium-sized mixing bowl to mash or into a food processor. You can even use homemade mayo to really bring out the flavor of the mayo in your deviled eggs (and use up some more of your fresh eggs!)
Once the ingredients are mixed together, you can spoon the mash into the eggs or use a Ziploc bag or piping bag to pipe the mash into the egg. Just make sure to use a wide open decor tip so your filling ingredients flow smoothly.
Serve immediately or chill until desired.
Deviled Egg Chicks (any recipe, cute egg/design):
Hard boiled eggs
Black olives (eyes)
Carrots (feet and beak)
Hard boil and peel your eggs
Cut the top third off the eggs either straight or jagged to look like a “cracked egg shell”
Scoop or squeeze out the yolks into a bowl
Make your filling using your favorite recipe
Fill the bottom centers of your eggs with the filling
Place the top “hat” of the egg “shell” on the top of the filling
Add olive pieces for eyes
Add carrot slivers for a beak and feet
Arrange on a serving dish
Ball Park Deviled Eggs:
1 tablespoon Ball Park/Stadium Mustard
¼ cup Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Sour Cream
Salt and Pepper, to taste
Use Ball Park Mustard in place of yellow mustard for a quick and easy way to up your deviled egg game!
You can swap out some of the mayo in your recipe for sour cream.
