Gobble Gobble, A Turkey Cheese Ball for Your Feast

Gobble Gobble! Tis’ the season for everything turkey themed. Today I am going to show you how to make a turkey cheese ball that is sure to be hit at your next get together.  There are so many options when making a cheese ball, but this recipe is my family’s favorite and is super easy with only a few ingredients.mh blog turkey cheese ball 2

Ingredients needed:

  • 16 oz. cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 oz. packet Ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons favorite hot sauce
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • 12 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 bell peppers (orange and red)
  • Pretzels
  • Crackers and Veggies to serve with your cheese ball

The inside of this turkey cheese ball is cream cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning mix, hot sauce, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. You mix this all together, form into a ball, and stick in the refrigerator to chill for 1-2 hours until set. Now you roll your cheese ball in the chopped bacon, yum!

Next comes the fun part, turning this cheese ball into a turkey! For this, you will need bell peppers, pretzels, and candied eyes.  If you don’t have candied eyes you can use googly eyes instead. Using the bell pepper cut out the head, feathers, and feet, and attach your eyes to the head using a dab of cream cheese. Stick all items firmly into the cheese ball body and voila, you have a turkey!

I serve my cheese balls with crackers, pretzels, and veggies! Hope you enjoy and that this turkey cheese ball becomes a new tradition at your Thanksgiving!
