Heart Shaped Valentine’s Day Chicken Treats

Show your flock some love this Valentine’s Day by making these super easy heart-shaped chicken treats. Packed with lots of delicious nutrients these treats are sure to make their heart-strings flutter!

Ingredients:

4 cups total dry mixed seeds: to make it quick and easy I used Cluck Yea treats for these chicken treats (sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, mealworms, cranberries, and oats are all great to use for your dry mixed seeds)
¼ cup cool water
1 envelope Knox unflavored gelatin
½ cup boiling water
½ cup coconut oil (melted)
¼ cup peanut butter
¼ cup honey

Supplies needed:

Cooking spray
Cookie sheet
Heart-shaped cookie cutters
Chopstick
String or ribbon

Instructions:
Prepare a baking sheet and heart-shaped cookie cutters by spraying them with cooking spray. In a small bowl whisk gelatin and cool water together and let it sit while you mix up the dry ingredients.

In a large bowl combine 4 cups of mixed dry seeds. Add the gelatin and water mixture to the dry seed mix along with the peanut butter, coconut oil, honey and boiling water. Mix well, making sure all the dry ingredients are coated.

Press the seed mixture into your cookie cutters firmly. Once the cookie cutters are filled use a chopstick to create a hole through the treat where a string can be placed later in order for your treats to be hung.

Place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator or freezer for 24 hours. Once the chicken treats have hardened remove them from the cookie cutters. Place a string or ribbon through the hole and hang your cute heart-shaped treats up for your flock to enjoy
